1. PROVINCIAL CAPITOL
You may consider this as a mosque, a place where Muslims go to pray on Fridays. But this is actually the province’s government building – the office of the governor. Seated on top of a hill, the Provincial Capitol of Bongao is a place where locals can go for a refreshing jog and enjoy a short, fulfilling hike. This place also gives you the perfect view for sunsets and sunrise because you get a bird's eye-view of the whole province, to include nearby islands such as Simunul.

2. BUD BONGAO
Being of sacred significance to the locals, this ‘holy’ mountain is one of the most sought-out tourist spot in the province. With a rich and mystique history, it's a must to climb this mountain when in Tawi-Tawi that will take you approximately an hour's climb. When you reach the top, the view pays off all your sweaty hard work. Don’t forget to bring some bananas with you -- expect a friendly welcome by a squad of monkeys along the way. (And they will be expecting some treats!).

3. PANAMPANGAN ISLAND
This is a newly discovered hidden haven in Tawi-Tawi that not only get tourists excited but also locals who frequent to visit the place. It has unblemished crystal clear sea water, filled with starfishes and sea urchins. You will walk on velvet-soft white sand. Locals refer to this place as the Virgin Island, untouched by today’s modernity. The island graces a new pride of the province.

4. BOLOBOC CAVE
This is the place, where the first hand-molded clay – the earthenware – gave birth. This cave holds a thousand-old history housing not only stalactites and stalagmites but also prehistoric tools of the ancient inhabitants who happen to use the cave as their shelter. At present, the place marvels us with different and unique rock formations.

5. Sheikh Karimul Makhdum Mosque
Tawi-Tawi holds a significant history for the Philippines being the cradle of Islam. Declared as a national historical site, four original wooden pillars stand strong inside the popular Sheikh Makhdum. If you seek a deeper understanding of Filipino-Islam heritage, visiting this mosque should be in your bucket list.
